Theres always that extra bit of pressure in the hope you don't mess something up!

........LIFE ON THE ROAD…….

Sitting in the snow again today here in Orono ME.  Woke this morning to a white blanket surrounding the bus…. and there was me bragging about spring arriving?! Spoke too soon I guess.  It's hard to believe that tonight is show number 41 on the “VERY BEST OF TOUR.”  We are flying through the gigs at this stage.  The past 3 weeks have...

been eventful to say the least.   As if we weren't busy enough on the road… The producer of CT Sharon decided that we were to film one of the shows out of the blue!  We decided to shoot the show in Casino Rama Ontario.  The venue there is huge and has tonnes of space for cameras and crew.  Its the only place where we could shoot a live show on the road so that the audience weren't effected by the bustle going on around them.  When filming a new show, sadly it's not just as easy as running the same show and filming it.  Theres a lot more prep that goes into it than that.  On rehearsals alone we spent hours getting everything perfect… if it's not done right on camera…. Well then…. Its not done right at all.  You only have the one shot to nail it… And nail it we did. Every one played a blinder.  I was in the production/media truck for some of the other lads solo songs and everyone looked and sounded great.  Its not easy doing a live shoot… Theres always that extra bit of pressure in the hope you don't mess something up!  Non the less… We got it done… You lot are in for something really special, real soon!!!

Friends, you guys & family have been asking me to do more painting’s.  So I have… I couldn't get much of anything done the 3 weeks previous as you can understand, but the second I did I got tore into it.  I LOVE painting… Its just another expression.  Painting is a lot like writing a song… some songs you can write easy and some you can’t… the same as a picture.  Some days you cant paint at all… Some days you can paint it all… It’s all a state of mind I find. I also want to get as many done/ practice in for the fund it campaign that I will be doing for my new album “On Mercy Street.”  Here is a time laps of me doodling ;)  The music is a piece that I composed played and produced a while back Called "The Uninvited Guests."  It's this idea I had for a burlesque/ seedy/ illegal drinking den/ prohibition era of music Enjoy.

Final mixes on the songs are being done right now 6 of the 12 tracks I am delighted with… The rest are almost there just a few more weeks here and there.  After that I’ll send them onto a guy we have in France for mastering…. We reckon he’s the best around, thats why he’s our guy.  Mastering in a nutshell is when a mastering engineer can unify your album with skillful use of EQ, gain, and compression to give it a consistent sound from track to track. This process also allows the mastering engineer to pump up the volume of your overall album so it's as hot as can be and make it sound unbelievable.  And unbelievable is what we are going for.

I cant wait for you guys to hear “On Mercy Street,” as I sit and write this I’m listening to new mixes and my head wont stop bobbing.. I love the work thats went into each not on every track and you will too..

I own copies of your two "Doodle Art" canvases. They absolutely fascinate me. There is so much in one of them and "Doodle Fish" ( a fantastic ship to me, hung sideways), is so well executed. I just really enjoy looking at it. Packed now, as I anticipate moving into new home, but can't wait to hang them and to purchase your Beetle
bug in a large size for that "special spot": brings back so many memories of you early yrs with CT.

Wow, Keith, you don't have much to keep you busy, do you? :) I'm just kidding! What a lot on your plate! I'm glad you have the energy for it all! I love to listen to your own music and the music you do with CT as well! Thanks for updating us. That live taping sounds like a right pain! I'm glad you were all able to do it and so well. I'm so impatient to see and hear the DVD! I'm also trying not to be impatient about waiting for yours to come out! You are so talented! I started listening to some of your past CT tracks and some of your own, last night. I ended up listening until 5 in the morning! I really enjoyed it, but tonight I need some sleep! LOL! Take care of yourself and keep on rolling!

Thanks for your update on every little thing. I know exactly what you mean when you talk of Spring arriving, moreso 'cause you're travelling from city to city. I'm in one city and almost every day it's something new; either the temperature tanks or there is new snowfall. Then the temperature rises, all the snow melts, only to start the cycle again. So now the race is on, Spring into Summer. Hard as it was, glad that you all were up to the task of recording the show. Sure looking forward to seeing it. Thoroughly enjoyed your little painting sesh there in the 'open-air' studio - thanks for sharing that. I like it that you're taking all the time it requires to get On Mercy Street just the way you want it and equally looking forward to hearing it. Praying that the Lord will bless all that your heart desires and your hands find to do.

Very happy to hear about the filming of BOCT. This is the first CT tour I will ever ( with the grace of God) miss. I booked a flight for Florida on the day you would have played Danville, Ky. Sorry you missed Indiana. Or should I say Indiana is sorry we missed you. Did get to see Christmas show but I really wanted to see the Best Of your. Now I get to.

Hi Keith My name is Deirdre, an iris girl at heart. I heard you play in CT in April and have listened online and CD ever since. You sure are talented and bring back memories of my childhood. My mom, grandma, and stepmom, all deceased, would sure have loved you and your music. Good luck with "On Mercy Street" so excited to watch it go to #1 in the US.

Hi Keith, First let me say you are a very lucky guy. You Fiance is just beautiful and you both look so happy. Be good to each other and keep this love forever. I love listening to you and Celtic Thunder and am so disappointed you won't be in Pittsburgh with this tour for a lot of reasons. It's one of the best times of my year, and it might have been the last for health reasons. Don't know things will go, and your show was on my bucket list. Listen to your music every night and just wanted to say you guys are the very very best.
