Theres always that extra bit of pressure in the hope you don't mess something up!

........LIFE ON THE ROAD…….

Sitting in the snow again today here in Orono ME.  Woke this morning to a white blanket surrounding the bus…. and there was me bragging about spring arriving?! Spoke too soon I guess.  It's hard to believe that tonight is show number 41 on the “VERY BEST OF TOUR.”  We are flying through the gigs at this stage.  The past 3 weeks have...

been eventful to say the least.   As if we weren't busy enough on the road… The producer of CT Sharon decided that we were to film one of the shows out of the blue!  We decided to shoot the show in Casino Rama Ontario.  The venue there is huge and has tonnes of space for cameras and crew.  Its the only place where we could shoot a live show on the road so that the audience weren't effected by the bustle going on around them.  When filming a new show, sadly it's not just as easy as running the same show and filming it.  Theres a lot more prep that goes into it than that.  On rehearsals alone we spent hours getting everything perfect… if it's not done right on camera…. Well then…. Its not done right at all.  You only have the one shot to nail it… And nail it we did. Every one played a blinder.  I was in the production/media truck for some of the other lads solo songs and everyone looked and sounded great.  Its not easy doing a live shoot… Theres always that extra bit of pressure in the hope you don't mess something up!  Non the less… We got it done… You lot are in for something really special, real soon!!!

Friends, you guys & family have been asking me to do more painting’s.  So I have… I couldn't get much of anything done the 3 weeks previous as you can understand, but the second I did I got tore into it.  I LOVE painting… Its just another expression.  Painting is a lot like writing a song… some songs you can write easy and some you can’t… the same as a picture.  Some days you cant paint at all… Some days you can paint it all… It’s all a state of mind I find. I also want to get as many done/ practice in for the fund it campaign that I will be doing for my new album “On Mercy Street.”  Here is a time laps of me doodling ;)  The music is a piece that I composed played and produced a while back Called "The Uninvited Guests."  It's this idea I had for a burlesque/ seedy/ illegal drinking den/ prohibition era of music Enjoy.

Final mixes on the songs are being done right now 6 of the 12 tracks I am delighted with… The rest are almost there just a few more weeks here and there.  After that I’ll send them onto a guy we have in France for mastering…. We reckon he’s the best around, thats why he’s our guy.  Mastering in a nutshell is when a mastering engineer can unify your album with skillful use of EQ, gain, and compression to give it a consistent sound from track to track. This process also allows the mastering engineer to pump up the volume of your overall album so it's as hot as can be and make it sound unbelievable.  And unbelievable is what we are going for.

I cant wait for you guys to hear “On Mercy Street,” as I sit and write this I’m listening to new mixes and my head wont stop bobbing.. I love the work thats went into each not on every track and you will too..

Might you get some serious painting in while at home in Ireland? I imagine that having been away for so long, there are quite a few places there that will stimulate that creative mind of yours. Possibly a surf scene or several? Shivon Soap Shack? Derry Wall? Guild Hall ( your fish-eye lens photo of that the day on the decision was announced is just absolutely stunning). Thank you for the blogs. They are so appreciated.

Thanks for the blog, nice that you keep us updated on what's happening with you & CT. Enjoyed watching you paint, but too bad you had to do it kneeling on asphalt in a parking lot. Must have been uncomfortable! Looking forward to seeing you & the other lads this Saturday at the Orpheum in Boston. Will be attending my first Sound Check! Also looking forward with much anticipation to your new album "On Mercy Street". Thanks again for all you do for your fans :)

    Hi Keith! :D

Wow! you really know how to make your life exciting and not boring at all! It's amazing how many things you like to do and don't hesitate to do them. That's one the things why I admire you the most.
The fact that Sharon decided to make a DVD of this tour really was the best news you could have told us! I got to finally see you guys on tour this year after 7 years being a fan and i cannot wait to get a copy of that DVD so i can re live that amazing moment at home. You guys are amazing at what you all do and it can just get better and better.

I loved to watch this video of you painting and I really enjoy how you try to share everything with us. You are really sweet. It's adorable how you can share to us too many meaningful stuff about your life and your work and also funny stuff (on instagram/facebook/twitter) that can only make me laugh so hard because... who doesn't need a laugh? So I gotta thank you for sometimes making my day with a simple post or tweet.

The making of your album 'On Mercy Street' is getting me anxiousss in a good way. Can't wait to hear it and eventually see you on tour :) I wish you the best on the rest of this process of making your album that i'm sure it will be amazing. Will worth the wait. I'm sure. ;)

    Have fun :)

I met him at a VIP Event at the Grand Rapids, Michigan show last month. It appears to be a signet ring. To the best of my knowledge, none of the lads are married. Damian is dating someone, but have not read anything about any of the others seeing anyone special.

I cant wait for you to announce the venue for your solo show for two reasons 1st because your new album will have already been released and I can learn the words to every song before I see you in person. To me there can not be a better compliment to an artist than having the audience sing along. And the next reason, the second biggest compliment is to have your fans plan there vacation to come and see you preform live. Thank you for sharing yourself with your fans. You have so many talents and I love each and every one!

I was at the show last night in Orono, and it was fantastic! I have been in love with Celtic Thunder since I was 13 years old, now I'm 22 and still listening and loving it.
