Farewell to Celtic Thunder.

 Hi Everyone,

Today is a very bitter sweet day and this is not easy to say at all. It saddens me to tell you that I wont be on the road with Celtic Thunder this fall.
I love performing with Celtic Thunder and always will. I've given the past 10 years of my life to the show. And you have been there every step of the way.
I have had many laughs, tears and learned so much from it.
I was a solo artist before I joined Celtic Thunder and have always continued to do so. For the 1st time in my career after hammering at it for over 12 years I am at a point where I have to go it alone and push everything I am doing for myself as far as I can.
This isn't a final goodbye to CT... Just a break to concentrate fully on my own music. I'm sure when we work it out in our schedules, I'll be up there swinging a kilt again at some point in the near future.
I just recorded a TV special last week in LA which will be getting released with a live album. And i'm right in the middle of recording an acoustic orchestral Christmas album with Brian Byrne which will be released this Christmas with a Christmas tour! You have so much music and good news coming your way.
Thank you for everything Celtic Thunder, the music, the friends & more importantly you guys the fans.
I Love you all, and appreciate every single thing you have ever done. From just listening to my music, liking something on Facebook, to coming to my shows and grabbing my Albums.

I have worked my ass off for everything I have in my life... a lot of the time at a loss of my own with things like family, friends and personal life.  I will continue to follow my own musical path now even more.  I will have even more time to crack this thing they called the "Music Business." Stay with me for the ride.  It's gonna be fun.

Keith,

x.

Keith I am with you all the way in everything you do. A fan since 2008. I look forward to your solo career. Saw you perform Mercy Street live in Seattle last November, you and your band were fantastic. I will miss you being with Celtic Thunder but understand now is the time for you to do you. I hope to see you up on the stage with CT again one day. Today is the day you marry Kelsey whom was with you last Nov and I could see the love between the two of you then. I am so happy you found each other. May your wedding day be everything you both have dreamed. Thank you for always including your fans in your life. We are blessed to be included. Best Wishes to you both and I can't wait to see you back in Seattle bringing down the house with your great music.

I feel MUCH better after reading this blog! I have already wished you much love with your lovely girl. Now I understand how everything went down as you leave Celtic Thunder for now. You see, I have NEVER paid so much money for a concert, but Celtic Thunder was playing in Los Angeles and I had to go! When I found out you weren't playing, I cursed the universe!! No Keith Harkin? That's like no John Lennon or Mick Jagger. So, I am very happy for this time in your life and I hope one day soon you will give Celtic Thunder another go. You are probably going to be a superstar instead and I'll just have to watch those shows on PBS!! Best wishes to you and your bride.

Aw, dammit, Keith! And I'm late to the party, just seeing your post a full 4 months later! But I hear you, and support you. I promise I will by buying your CD's as well! I love CT, and you will be greatly missed! No doubt they will continue on, just as you are! I never would have known about your solo music without CT, and I really do enjoy it! All the best to you, and to them, and looking forward to more of your music!

Congradulations on your recent mairage and musically stepping out on your own. I'm sure you will be very successful. At this point in your career you remind me of a couple of other artist that came before you ie. - Dan Fogelberg and Keith Urban. It will be fun watching you take-off. I wish you all the best in what ever you do.

Keith - I'll miss you with Cletic Thunder. I won't lose you because I have CCs and DVDs of the dhows. I look forward to see your TV special and will buy the DVD if available. I just bought the women's Tee Shirt at Harkin Headquarters. Good luck in your solo tour. I don't drive out of my comfort zone nut if I find a way to get to one of your concerts, I will.

Saw CT in2015 in Los Angeles, and have seen you twice in L.A. and once in Hermosa Beach at The Lounge. You are fantastic! I am looking forward to seeing you on September 15th at Molly Malone's... can't wait! Also, I, my daughter, and my granddaughter will be traveling to Ireland in either November or April... Are you still offering your service as a tour guide? Haha jk. We can't wait!

    Keith,

Been following you all the way and am excited for your full throttle dive into your own music. Congratulations on your wedding. It has been fun watching you grow up over the past decade. Looking forward to your show in San Clemente this week.

Saw CT last night in Indianapolis, IN. My 8 y/o daughter kept asking "where is the guy with the long hair?" At first I gave her a funny look as your hair may be longer than the others, but in my opinion not long. You were missed. Good luck with the solo career. I look forward to seeing your solo show.

Ok Keith, first, I wish you the best and understand your move from CT to " you";) Kelsey, I want to see yalls line of 'goods'... y'all are so cute, and those of us that cannot yet travel, would love a peek at your traveled items:)
Keith, you were an immediate favorite when we first discovered Celtic when Damian was 14... my 3 daughters and I, ( and my mom), went to see y'all in Houston 10 years ago ... so the enjoyment of the show/music went from ages 11-72:). As I sit here, watching Legacy 1 & 2 with my eldest daughter,I must tell you what comfort the singing brings to us- it's our " comfort/ happy " place.... especially now....( because she was diagnosed with cancer in April)...she's only 26:(radiation and surgery are done, but now she faces chemo for 3-4 months).... and we WILL be seeing Celtic on tour, in Houston, on Oct. 22.... with all of the same that saw it ten years ago- plus my husband!....(and Siobhan Thompson, who sang with Emmet this summer in Houston).. my daughter's good friend- so she'll be joining us:)

I say this b/c I will miss your pleasant voice and how you sing with such emotion! ( I'll never forget, in 2006, my middle daughter, now 24 , was " in love" with you!...( sorry,Kelsey, I'm sure he gets that a lot, but he got YOU!)

Any way, best of luck, we'll miss you, send me your site, and happy gypsying!! God bles!
