Farewell to Celtic Thunder.

 Hi Everyone,

Today is a very bitter sweet day and this is not easy to say at all. It saddens me to tell you that I wont be on the road with Celtic Thunder this fall.
I love performing with Celtic Thunder and always will. I've given the past 10 years of my life to the show. And you have been there every step of the way.
I have had many laughs, tears and learned so much from it.
I was a solo artist before I joined Celtic Thunder and have always continued to do so. For the 1st time in my career after hammering at it for over 12 years I am at a point where I have to go it alone and push everything I am doing for myself as far as I can.
This isn't a final goodbye to CT... Just a break to concentrate fully on my own music. I'm sure when we work it out in our schedules, I'll be up there swinging a kilt again at some point in the near future.
I just recorded a TV special last week in LA which will be getting released with a live album. And i'm right in the middle of recording an acoustic orchestral Christmas album with Brian Byrne which will be released this Christmas with a Christmas tour! You have so much music and good news coming your way.
Thank you for everything Celtic Thunder, the music, the friends & more importantly you guys the fans.
I Love you all, and appreciate every single thing you have ever done. From just listening to my music, liking something on Facebook, to coming to my shows and grabbing my Albums.

I have worked my ass off for everything I have in my life... a lot of the time at a loss of my own with things like family, friends and personal life.  I will continue to follow my own musical path now even more.  I will have even more time to crack this thing they called the "Music Business." Stay with me for the ride.  It's gonna be fun.

Ok Keith, first, I wish you the best and understand your move from CT to " you";) Kelsey, I want to see yalls line of 'goods'... y'all are so cute, and those of us that cannot yet travel, would love a peek at your traveled items:)
Keith, you were an immediate favorite when we first discovered Celtic when Damian was 14... my 3 daughters and I, ( and my mom), went to see y'all in Houston 10 years ago ... so the enjoyment of the show/music went from ages 11-72:). As I sit here, watching Legacy 1 & 2 with my eldest daughter,I must tell you what comfort the singing brings to us- it's our " comfort/ happy " place.... especially now....( because she was diagnosed with cancer in April)...she's only 26:(radiation and surgery are done, but now she faces chemo for 3-4 months).... and we WILL be seeing Celtic on tour, in Houston, on Oct. 22.... with all of the same that saw it ten years ago- plus my husband!....(and Siobhan Thompson, who sang with Emmet this summer in Houston).. my daughter's good friend- so she'll be joining us:)

I say this b/c I will miss your pleasant voice and how you sing with such emotion! ( I'll never forget, in 2006, my middle daughter, now 24 , was " in love" with you!...( sorry,Kelsey, I'm sure he gets that a lot, but he got YOU!)

Any way, best of luck, we'll miss you, send me your site, and happy gypsying!! God bles!

When George died, a big part of Celtic Thunder was lost. And Damien's departure was deeply felt. I will miss your voice with the group but it will continue without you, I am sure. When When the first one left to carve a personal career for himself, Celtic Thunder survived nicely without him. His career hasn't been as exciting as he anticipated. Here's the thing, boyo, I Ireland, Scotland and Wales have some of the finest voices in the world. Some began in the group, Celtic Thunder. As long as the creators of the shows continue to find the right com inaction of lives, Celtic Thunder will continue to be popular.

"on Mercy Street is fanominal. The way you sang it on your video is so beautiful and full of feeling that I cried. You are the best. I know this song has already done great, but for your fans it's much more than a song. I can't put it into words. Which is surprising since you usually can't shut me up. I Love You Keith as a singer, song writer, musician, and as a person. I love the way you treat your fans, with all the songs you put on your website. Awesome.

I have been a fan for many yrs. You were always my favorite Celtic Thunder singer, and I didn't
know that you wouldn't be singing with them in LA this year, I really missed you, but the concert
was great even so. I hope you meant what you said, and that you will be back with Celtic Thunder
in the future, because they need you. I hope to catch a solo concert of yours, I missed the one
in LA this year because I didn't realize that you were no longer with Celtic Thunder, but I will
be looking for you to come back to LA, if you do, I will be there. I am a dedicated and loyal fan
    of yours (not a stalker)

Missed you at the Palm Desert concert! You were one of the reasons I bought tickets. So sad you weren't there. But the show was fantastic! Good luck to you!

Like so many , I too was captivated by CT. I do wish you well in your solo endeavers, but your comment about a temporary leave of absence from CT gave me hope that I might be able to attend a live CT concert with you in it. While the Thunder is still amazing, your voice is missed. If you do make some appearances with the Thunder, please post those dates. I live in North Carolina so I hope at least one of your performances is near my home State.

I remember you saying once that you would never leave CT i think it was aeound the time George died.i truly hope you achieve everything you aim for. That being said I'm Australian and you walked out on CT concerts here last year and disappointed all your Australian fans and promised tomake it up to us and that hasn't happened even tho your down here surfing at the moment.I wish you and your wife all the joy you wish for you've worked hard and deserve success but please remember your Australian fans we have always supported you but I for one am greatly disappointed that you seem to have forgotten us completely. Good luck

Keith, I have been listening and Celtic Thunder for several years. I first viewed a concert on our PBS Channel. I have several CD's, DVD's, and listen on YouTube. I am old enough to be your mother and have grown children of my own, but really enjoy watching you and the guys. You are one of the most talented young men ever. I will continue to follow, buy albums, etc. Let's face it, CT is not the same without you. You were a leader in the group. I love all the guys, but the harmony and interaction is just not the same without you. Good luck in the future and I'll keep listening to you and admiring your talent. Please visit Celtic Thunder and make sure it's publicized widely when you do.

Celtic Thunder and all of the many talented singers, Keith in particular, became a very large part of my life as I recuperated from quadruple cardiac bypass surgery with Aortic Valve replacement July 2016 through the present. At 76, this has been a very slow process, but with all the Keith Harkin CDs and Celtic Thunder DVDs in the backgrounf, exercises become much more tolerable, and low periods erased with all the beautiful music. I so look forward to future albums, and wish you and Kelsey such wonderful luck and good wishes. Thank you for all the listening and viewing pleasure you have given me !
